As artificial intelligence reshapes what’s possible in the workplace and daily life, there’s never been a greater need for AI systems designed with people in mind.
In this year-long graduate certificate program, you’ll learn how to design AI systems that are ethical, equitable and responsive to human needs. You’ll build fluency in core AI concepts, grounded in industry frameworks you can apply to emerging technologies and real-world problems. You’ll explore ethical and societal implications, evaluate potential risks, validate solutions through user studies, and develop strategies to integrate AI into products, services and organizations.

Earn Credit Toward Your Master’s Degree
You can complete this certificate on its own or combine it with another UW College of Engineering certificate to create a stacked Master of Engineering in Multidisciplinary Engineering.
