This six-course graduate certificate offers a thorough grounding in the essential skills and principles of software design and development. The program builds on the basic knowledge acquired in introductory programming classes.

The software design courses cover the foundational knowledge of development processes, methods and practices. You’ll learn about the software development life cycle, requirements engineering, quality assurance, modeling and software testing. The software development coursework focuses on data structures and algorithms within the context of object-oriented design and implementation.
