About this Course
In this course, you’ll learn about the anatomy, physiology and science of how we produce speech, including the respiratory, phonatory, resonatory and articulatory systems and their neural control. We’ll also focus on the anatomy, physiology and science of chewing and swallowing foods and liquids.
What You'll Learn
- How to identify and describe the biological and neurological structures associated with typical speech and swallowing mechanisms
- The physiology and functioning of integrated speech and swallowing mechanisms
- The theories and scientific principles that underlie the functions of respiration, phonation, articulation and swallowing, and the neurophysiology that controls them
