About this Course


In this course, you’ll learn about the audiology profession and explore the nature, primary causes and common clinical approaches used to diagnose, remediate and manage hearing disorders across the lifespan. You’ll apply knowledge of hearing anatomy and physiology to understand various types of hearing disorders. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of clinical service delivery approaches within the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) model.

  • How to describe primary auditory system disorders across populations, including their prevalence, causes, symptoms and health and psychosocial effects
  • The tools and processes used to diagnose and treat hearing loss, clinicians’ roles and the basic framework for implementing evaluations and therapy interventions
