Danielle G. Marcos
Localization Program Manager, International Expansion | Dropbox
Danielle G. Marcos is a world travel enthusiast with a master's in translation and intercultural communication from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. She has lived and worked on four continents as a translator, interpreter and cultural mediator. Marcos is an active member of the internationalization and localization (i18/L10n) community. She served as the chapter manager for Women in Localization in the Pacific Northwest, a nonprofit organization, for two years. She has also presented on assorted topics at LocWorld and GALA throughout the years.
Marcos has more than a decade of experience in the field and a strong passion. She currently enjoys the beauties of building world-ready products for a globally distributed and diverse organization such as Dropbox. She feels strongly about evangelizing and teaching others the best practices of globalization, internationalization, localization and translation. Prior to teaching, Marcos completed a two-year role as a teaching assistant for the University of Washington localization certificate program, of which she's an alumna. She is also a certified cultural intelligence (CQ) practitioner and has published articles on the topic.
