Meet the Instructor
Ernst Henle
Head of Artificial Intelligence for Industry 4.0 | HCLTech
Ernst Henle earned his doctorate in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he used physics, chemistry and math to solve problems in medical research. As an experimental scientist at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, he researched free radicals and aging. Henle's software engineering career began when he created computational models to explain his experimental results.
Henle left academia more than 20 years ago to join Silicon Valley startups as a software development engineer, creating software for bioinformatics, digital pathology and image analysis. He continued this work at Merck, where he devised algorithms for drug discovery. At Microsoft, Henle worked as an architect and data scientist on algorithm development, predictive maintenance and medical informatics. At Predixion Software, he was the principal program manager and data scientist for the first cloud-based predictive analytics platform. Henle is now at HCLTech and leads a global artificial intelligence group that specializes in industry 4.0 and the internet of things.
