John Yeager

Senior Media Content Strategist, Bloodworks Northwest

John Yeager is a 21st-century digital storyteller, comfortable with a camera on his shoulder, a microphone in his hand or his fingers on the keyboard of a MacBook Pro. Yeager's work has taken him everywhere from Pakistan to Pasco in search of the story. His experience includes working as a news reporter at KIRO7 (CBS Seattle), KCPQ Q13 Reports (Fox Seattle), and KXLY TV4 (ABC Spokane), and as media relations director for the international nonprofit World Vision. He's now the senior media content strategist for Bloodworks Northwest, where he's won several awards from The Public Relations Society of America for excellence in media relations.

Yeager is experienced in all aspects of today's digital storytelling, including writing and editing content, interviewing, recording and editing audio and video, and posting to online video and podcast platforms. But as he tells anyone looking to engage an audience — none of that matters unless you know how to develop a compelling story. Yeager earned a master’s degree in communication in digital media from the University of Washington.
