Lyle Axelarris
Building Enclosure Consultant, Design Alaska
Lyle Axelarris has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and teaches the Building Envelope course at Boston Architectural College. He is a licensed engineer with over a decade of experience designing commercial buildings throughout Alaska.
Through his role as a building enclosure consultant with Design Alaska, he performs hygrothermal modeling, forensic investigations and building envelope construction inspections. He also specifies envelope systems and creates high-performance details for cost-effective and constructible building enclosures.
He was recently a contributing author of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' (ASHRAE) Guide for Resilient Thermal Energy Systems Design in Cold and Arctic Climates. His expertise in cold-climate building design is driven by his passion for preserving material durability and indoor air quality for healthy, sustainable buildings.
