Rachael Canaday
Teacher Education Program Coordinator, Burke Museum
Rachael Canaday coordinates teacher education programs, including the DIG Field School Program, at the Burke Museum in Seattle. She’s led education programs and developed curricula for numerous museums and educational nonprofits, including the Seattle Aquarium, Pacific Science Center and National Geographic. A former New York City public school teacher, Canaday believes strongly in the power of museum-teacher partnerships to bring hands-on, object-based learning experiences to students.
Canaday has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Mount Holyoke College, a master’s degree in education from Mercy University, a master’s degree in religion, politics and ethics from Harvard University, and a certificate in museum studies from the University of Washington.
