Bahram Zahir

Data Science Leader

Bahram Zahir is a seasoned data scientist with a strong background in electrical engineering. His corporate experience includes working in data science roles for prominent companies, including Microsoft, Facebook, Nortel Networks and Providence. Bahram also demonstrates a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He co-founded and served as chief technology officer at Hivva Technologies, and he established Avicenna Solutions, where he provided expert consulting services in data science, machine learning and related technical fields.

A dedicated educator and student mentor, Bahram has taught at several universities, including the University of Ottawa, the University of Kurdistan, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, and Toronto Metropolitan University. He's a published author, holds a U.S. patent and is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Zahir earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran), a master's degree in signal processing from Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG) and a doctorate in communications and electronics from Telecom Paris-Tech.
