Tanner Harris
Senior Environmental Scientist, King County Department of Local Services, Road Services Division
Tanner Harris is a professional wetland scientist with more than a decade of experience in wetland science, regulation and restoration. As a senior environmental scientist for the King County Road Services Division, he leads environmental documentation and permitting efforts for capital improvement and fish passage projects, conducts environmental reviews, and helps develop and implement wetland and stream mitigation and monitoring plans.
Prior to moving to the Pacific Northwest, Harris worked for an environmental consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay area, where he led the company’s botany and wetland practice group and managed large-scale botanical surveys, wetland delineations, and stream and dry wash mapping, as well as permitting efforts and mitigation planning and implementation. He also previously taught basic and advanced wetland delineation courses for the San Francisco Bay Coastal Training Program at San Francisco State University. Harris holds a master's degree in plant and soil sciences from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
