Meet the Instructor
Yen-Chu Weng
Lecturer, Program on the Environment, University of Washington
Yen-Chu Weng has been a member of the teaching faculty for the UW Program on the Environment since 2013. Trained as a geographer, she integrates GIS methods and cartography into her teaching and research, which is situated at the intersection of landscape ecology, ecological restoration, spatial analysis and regional planning. Her research has included collaboration with regional planning agencies and policy recommendations for future land-use planning.
Weng is an award-winning educator, an active member of the UW Office of Global Affairs and the UW Center for Teaching and Learning, and contributes to projects on teaching innovation and pedagogy. She earned her Ph.D. in geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
