ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants are evaluated for their experience with and knowledge of the fundamentals of construction methods, materials and documents. Depending on your experience, you may be accepted into the regular or advanced standing track of the program.

Regular standing students complete six courses in four consecutive quarters for a total of 21 credits. Advanced standing students complete five courses in three consecutive quarters for a total of 16 credits.

Advanced Standing

If you're seeking admission to advanced standing, you should have at least five years of experience working for a general contractor in commercial building construction or working for owners or design firms on commercial building construction projects, as well as specific knowledge and proficiency in: 

• Reading and interpreting commercial construction drawings and specifications 
• Various construction methods, sequence of construction, materials and their uses 

Regular Standing

If you don’t meet the five-year experience requirement, you can still be accepted to the program, but you’ll need to complete the five-credit construction management foundations course in the summer quarter.

English Proficiency

International Students

International students are welcome to apply to an online offering of this program, which doesn’t require a visa. To enroll in a classroom offering, you must have a visa that permits study in the United States. This program does not enable students to obtain or maintain F-1 visa status. For more information, see Admission Requirements for International Students.

Earning the Certificate

You earn a certificate of completion by successfully completing all required courses. Students must receive a grade of at least .7 in each course and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in the program. For more information, see Earning the Certificate.
