About this Program
Up to one in four adults in the United States lives with some type of disability, and for many of these people, it can be difficult to find or navigate information on websites or mobile apps. Today, companies and organizations of all kinds need professionals who understand the big picture of how — and why — to create accessible digital content and ensure equal access to information.
In this one-course specialization, you’ll get insight into the diverse experiences and challenges that people with auditory, visual, physical, speech and cognitive and learning disabilities face. You'll get an overview of a new federal rule that requires state and local governments to meet digital accessibility standards, then learn entry-level skills in using digital accessibility tools and creating accessible content. In the end, you’ll develop your own digital accessibility plan — and you’ll take away a toolkit you can use to advocate for accessibility for all.
