About this Course
Without self-awareness, even the most equity-minded person can cause great harm. In this course, you’ll spend time focusing on yourself. Through assessments, classroom discussions and reflection assignments, you’ll develop a stronger understanding of your strengths, challenges, support networks and motivations as a DEIB practitioner. We’ll discuss topics such as psychological safety, active listening and self-care — themes that we’ll continue to build on throughout the program. You and your classmates will also actively work to create an equitable learning environment so you can take that knowledge and experience back to your organizations.
What You’ll Learn
- How awareness of your own identity, strengths and orientation to difference affect your DEIB work
- Strategies for identifying your own triggers and managing them in real time when they arise
- What workplaces that allow people to show up as their “whole selves” look like
Get Hands-On Experience
You’ll write a personal DEIB practitioner and commitment statement, similar to DEIB commitment statements you may have already created for your team or organization.
